LEATHER Horween CSL Scotch Grain

LEATHER Horween CSL Scotch Grain

The Chromexcel series is Horween® Leather Company’s classic offering, showcasing a century-old tanning process and proprietary formula that infuses oils and waxes deep into the leather, resulting in a smooth, lustrous, and highly durable material. Each hide is hand-stained to achieve rich color depth and an engaging pull-up effect that beautifully reveals the natural grain. This particular version features a Scotch Grain embossed texture, adding refined, durable, and tactile detail to the timeless Chromexcel foundation—ideal for leather enthusiasts seeking both elegance and rugged character.

Bloom

If you notice a white powder on your Horween leather, don’t worry—this is called "bloom." Bloom naturally occurs when the oils, waxes, or fats used during the tanning process rise to the surface, especially in cooler storage conditions. This is common in high-quality, full-grain leathers like Horween.
To remove bloom, simply buff the leather with a soft, dry cloth. A bit of warmth can also help. This is not harmful and is actually a sign of well-crafted leather.

Horween Leather Company

An American company specialising in the manufacturing and refining of leather and related products. It is one of the oldest continuously running tanneries in the United States of America. Since its founding in the early 20th century it has been located in Chicago.

  • Leather is irregularly shaped and each hide is unique. The images shown on our website are just an example.
